| How to Create Print Ready Files Using Publisher
You
will need to include the bleed if applicable in
your file sizes. For instance, if your file is
a 5" x 7" postcard, create a file that
is 5.25" x 7.25". This will give you
a .125" bleed area around your trim area
of 5 x 7. Make sure your background elements that
are to print to the edge are going to the edges
of the entire document, but be sure that all important
text/type or graphic elements that aren't to be
trimmed off are at least .25" in from the
edges of your file. See the Bleeds
and Safe Area information. Save your file
in tiff format. Please do not send native Publisher
files.
To Save as TIFF:
Select File, Print and select Tag Image File Format (TIF). Once you select tif as the type, an option will appear right above where you type in the name for your file allowing you to select a resolution. If it doesn't say Commercial Printing (300 dpi), click on the Change button and select the 300 dpi option. You will need to do this for each page in your document. Remeber to give each page a unique name.
